"So tell me, Miss, ah, Ms. Klein, what gave you the impression that my firm would have any interest in purchasing your eternal soul?"
"Well, I was told that that was what you do?"
"Amongst other things, yes, but the soul market has become quite saturated of late. Definitely not a seller's market I'm afraid, what with the new banking laws and all. What is it you want Ms. Klein?" he asked as he stroked his goatee absentmindedly.
"I want eternal beauty," the attractive young woman said, holding his gaze.
"I, ah, I'm afraid head office no longer allows that sort of thing, Ms Klein," the handsome man replied. "Long term liabilities are frow
At one time, I loved you as my own.
You were my sun, my stars and moon--
the Venus that inspired my heart--
you were these things and much more.
I chose to love you from my free will.
I was hoping to make you my new bride.
I wanted us to be old farts together...
and my love for you, I could never hide.
Then you turned on me, ripping my heart
into little shreds while you laughed.
You left me broken, bleeding, and dying,
never caring any about the hell I was in.
Now you come back to me, and say you erred,
that you changed your ways and want me again.
It's too late, however--the dagger was planted.

Mermaid Bones - a beat poem.
I'm hiding an ocean of teeth under my scales
it's in the forbidden taste of salt on my tongue
the weight of the measuring tape,
of those numbers pushing bubbles through my blood and through my gums.
It's written on the circumference of my waist.
In the words cursing the ghost ship of my shape being plundered against my will.
It's spoken by the fish telling me that I have no right to fill my gills with oxygen
underneath a sea bed of regret laid heavy with the shape of a tail.
You are a whale they said
and they made me push my bones out to see the fish bo

Ah-choo! Excuse me,
It's just that I've been sitting up here so long
That so much of your dust has collected on me.
I bet you can't even guess what color I am, even though you're standing right there...
Oh, I'm over here.
Yes, I'm up here sitting on this old forgotten shelf.
Surprised to see I can talk, eh?
Well I'm actually not that different from you.
I used to be one of you.
No, I'm being serious.
What good would it do me if I lied to you, anyway?
*sigh* I remember when I would wake up
And see sunlight pouring through my window like a
Waterfall of golden light.
I remember running outside to go play with my friends

I want to live in a girly world,
Where I can be a twirly girl!
With frilly pink dresses,
And long flowing tresses,
That I can color and curl!
I want to go to a candyland,
It sounds like such a dandy plan!
Where peppermint breezes
Blow through the treeses,
And I'll eat as much as I can!
I want to visit a fairy city.
Such a place would be so pretty!
With wee little houses,
They ride around on mouses,
Because fairies are so itty-bitty!
The queen of nonsense invites me to tea;
Oh what an event that will be!
We'll have jackalope roast,
And sugared guppies on toast,
In her treehouse under the sea!
